Villajoyosa Fish Market
The Fish Market/ Auction is held every afternoon/evening, along the end of the bay. Only businesses may bid on the fish, however watching this auction is an experience in itself. The fish market is open to general buyers. Here you can find many varieties of fish, crustaceans, cephalopods, and seafood. The speciality and most common catches in the area include: Whiting, Red Mullet, Prawns Monkfish, and Norway Lobster.
Villajoyosa Weekly Market
The weekly market is held on Thursdays, near the railway station. Those who visit this market are mostly locals, and only a hanful of tourists attend, which means no inflated ‘tourist prices’. This market is packed full of stalls, but specialises in clothing, jewellery, and leather. This market is open from 8 am until 3 pm.
